CAIRO- 24 May 2026: The Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) has dispatched on Sunday morning its 202nd "Zad Al-Ezza… From Egypt to Gaza" (Provision of Dignity) convoy, carrying over 4,000 tons of comprehensive humanitarian aid to support Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

This initiative is part of the organization's role as the national mechanism for coordinating aid to the Strip.

The convoy carried approximately 4,409 tons of comprehensive humanitarian aid, including food baskets, flour, medical supplies, relief materials, and petroleum products to operate hospitals and vital facilities in the Strip.

The Egyptian Red Crescent also reinforced its efforts to provide Gaza residents with essential needs such as clothing, mattresses, and tents to shelter those affected.

The Egyptian Red Crescent has maintained a presence on the border since the beginning of the crisis, as the Rafah crossing has remained open from the Egyptian side. It has maintained its readiness at all logistical centers and its efforts to deliver humanitarian and relief aid, which has exceeded 985,000 tons, thanks to the efforts of more than 65,000 volunteers.

On May 21, 2026, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said that 28 patients and 49 companions travelled for treatment outside Gaza via the Rafah border crossing.

The Ministry confirmed that the Medical Referrals Committee continues to monitor and oversee patient travel cases, reiterating that thousands of patients and wounded individuals are still awaiting permission to travel and complete their treatment outside the Gaza Strip.
